I almost always spend my Friday nights sewing. Last night I made this block to add to my sampler quilt. It uses normal piecing to make the diamonds and paper piecing to finish it off. I followed the tutorial on Freshly Pieced. This block is part of a Sampler Series. If you would like to complete the whole sampler quilt, which is absolutely gorgeous, I recommend you use this link on Fresh Lemons. After all that hard work I knew I would need an easy supper. So, I made a delicious pepperoni and spinach flat bread pizza. I use the Stonefire Tandoor Baked Naan from Walmart and lightly oil the flat bread. I then add garlic and oregano and top with desired toppings. I cook at 425 for about 10-12 minutes. I REALLY love doing this for chicken bacon ranch pizza. I just didn't have the energy to cook the chicken and the bacon before I could eat supper. | Today was a little less relaxing that last night. I woke up and took my dog for a walk and then got started on a busy day of yard work. I have to say I have NEVER planted anything in my life. Literally. I teach kindergarten and we grow seeds in cotton balls. That is the extent of my growing experience. I think I am just as amazed as the kids when the plants actually start to grow! Today my husband and I planted three bushes and a tree. I also divided the hostas that were still in the yard from the previous owners. I am guessing that the hostas had not been divided in at least 7-8 years. I was able to divide each of the eight plants into four or five new plants. In case that wasn't enough for one day we also put rocks and a border around the big pine tree in our yard. We tried to get grass to grow under it last summer but we live in an area with very sandy soil. |
Thanks for stopping by! I would love to hear about what you have been working on. Leave a comment or email me at [email protected].
